Partnerlink The concept of partnerships has been developed by A.K Worthington Limited for the past decade, and in 2007 the company Partnerlink was formed. The concept is to work with regional hauliers on a formal basis to counteract empty miles and therefore the impact on the environment. With shared IT systems the regional hauliers can pin point loads and equipment to find the best solution for client and haulier. The benefits offered to the client is more direct delivery alleviating the need for constant handling or transshipment, it also allows regionally for shorter lead times, which therefore enables later cut off’s. The Partnerlink company is made up of six shareholding partners, and twelve support partners working under licence. A.K.Worthington links directly with all eighteen of these partners, allowing a direct secure trunking facility, it removes the requirement for transhipment and naturally offers a later cut off for the sending client, and the ability for earlier delivery for the receiving customer. |
