Bulk Warehousing World Freight Centre Limited operates over 500,000 sq ft of Quality BRC and Excise Approved facilities, 16 metres to eaves, allowing various bulk stacking configurations based on both customer requirements and safe systems of work. All stock is controlled by a fully integrated WMS, which provides stock mapping by both Bay and Line. The clients account handlers, upon receipt of the off loading manifest enter all details on to the WMS upon order entry which then transmits to the hand held computers, at this point the stock mapping parameters are generated, instructing the hand held scanners as to the Bay and line the stock is planned for. Our fully experienced and trained warehouse staff then scan the pallet, the scan record then stipulates the desired location of the pallet, at which point our warehouse staff proceed to the preferred destination, enter into the hand held scanner the location as confirmation and locate the pallet based on the pre-entered mapping parameters. This then becomes the pallets home until such time as instructions are received to pick and despatch. All stocks are offloaded/loaded under a 70,000 square foot fully covered canopy area to alleviate any risk whatsoever from weather contamination, this area is also equipped with scanner coverage to enable immediate reaction to any landed/picked stocks. The WMS allows the administration team to monitor in real time the progress of all put away and picking instructions issued to the hand held computers, this provides true and realistic throughput KPI’s to be built, which in itself allows synergies to be progressed in both efficiencies and cost for our customer base group in the UK. |
